Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Kouzouki collects when you use kouzouki.com, why, and the choices you have. Last updated 27 July 2026.
1. The short version
Kouzouki is a set of structural engineering calculators. It is deliberately built as a static site with no user accounts. We do not ask you to register, we do not ask for your name or address, and we do not sell data to anyone.
The calculations you run happen in your own browser. The numbers you type into a calculator are not transmitted to us and are not stored on our servers.
2. Information we collect
Calculator inputs — not collected. Every public calculator on this site runs client-side in JavaScript. Building dimensions, loads, material selections and results stay on your device. Refreshing the page discards them.
Server logs. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare Pages) processes standard request information such as IP address, user agent and requested URL in order to serve the site and protect it from abuse. We do not use these logs to build a profile of you.
We do not run our own analytics. There is no Google Analytics, no heatmapping, and no behavioural tracking script of our own on this site.
3. Cookies
Two categories of cookie may be present:

The kz_gate cookie is only set if you choose to enter the members
password. Browsing the free calculators sets no cookie from us.
4. Third-party advertising (Google AdSense)
This site displays advertising supplied by Google. You should know the following:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- You can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info/choices or optout.networkadvertising.org.
- Google's own handling of data is described in the Google Privacy & Terms partner sites policy.
Opting out of personalised ads does not remove advertising — it means the ads you see are less tailored to you.
5. Your rights (GDPR / UK GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to access, correct, export, restrict or erase personal data we hold about you, and to object to processing. Because we operate no accounts and store no calculator data, in practice the only personal data we hold about you is essentially nil — there is no account, no stored calculation and no mailing list to be removed from. Rights relating to advertising cookies are exercised through the Google controls linked in section 4, since those cookies are set and controlled by Google, not by us.
Where advertising cookies require consent in your jurisdiction, that consent is collected and managed by Google's consent mechanisms before personalised ads are served.
6. Your rights (California — CCPA / CPRA)
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising in exchange for payment. The categories of personal information involved in advertising on this site are described in section 4 and are collected by Google as a third party; use the Google controls linked there to limit or opt out of that processing.
7. Children
Kouzouki is a professional engineering tool intended for adults working in design and construction. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
8. Security and retention
The site is served over HTTPS. Because there are no accounts and no stored calculations, there is no database of user work to breach, and no mailing list or customer record to leak.
9. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, the revised version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
10. Data we hold about you
Because we operate no accounts and store no calculator data, there is in practice no personal data held about you to access, correct or erase. See also our terms of use.
